Nierówności ekonomiczne a jakość życia w krajach Unii Europejskiej

This article addresses fundamental issues related to the essence and measurement of economic inequalities. The work was performed on the basis of the analysis and synthesis of the literature of the subject and gathered statistical data. The analysis of individual dimensions of economic inequalities in EU countries in 2010 and 2015 was conducted. The obtained results confirmed the occurrence of economic inequalities between the countries of the European Union. The biggest differences were recorded at the level of wage gap and the Gini coefficient values. The highest income inequalities were recorded in Bulgaria, Romania, the Baltic States and in Southern European countries, i.e. in Spain, Portugal and Greece, while the lowest in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Sweden and Finland.
