AVIATION PLANNING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY: DFW INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT PLAN UPDATE

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is undertaking a $5 million "Airport Development Plan (ADP)" update which will result in the identification of and implementation of billions of dollars of needed airport infrastructure improvements in the terminal, people mover system and airside. The recommended alternative has construction costs in excess of $2 billion. The selected new terminal concept will require a new automated people mover system to better support out hubbing airlines. Both above and below ground systems concepts are being assessed at an estimated cost of nearly half a billion dollars.
