Design of Virtual Instrument System for Engine Based on SAE J1939

A virtual instrument system for engine based on CAN bus was developed by the author of this paper. In the system,USBCAN-Ⅱ is used as the hardware interface between engine controller bus and USB of PC. The developing environment is C#. The virtual instrument is visualized under Dundas’ software platform. The system can simulate real motormeter,providing function of looking up real-time engine parameter data. It adds the fault diagnosis function. The system realizes monitor and detection of the engine.
