INDUSTRIAL ALCOHOL CONCESSIONS The Mysore Government for some months past has been considering the question of supplying alcohol free of duty to the factories in the state to encourage the local industries, and has recently issued a press notice on it. The report outlines the following conditions for the exemption of industrial concerns in the state from payment of duty on alcohol supplied for the manufacture of commercial products: (1) The industry requiring alcohol should be sufficiently important to deserve the concession. (2) Alcohol should be used only as a vehicle in the process of manufacture, and the products manufactured should not contain alcohol as an integral part thereof in their finished state. (3) Samples of such products should be furnished whenever required for chemical analysis.
