Preparation of Control Material for Platinum Determination in Plant Samples

In this work a preparation procedure of control material for determination of platinum in plant matrix has been described. For quantitative determination of Pt and other elements: Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, and Mn, three independent analytical methods have been applied. To obtain plant material of higher content of platinum than is usually present in uncontaminated samples, two plant species: Indian mustard and Anawa maize were hydroponically cultivated under controlled conditions in a nutrient solution with addition of [Pt(NH 3 ) 4 ] (NO 3 ) 2 .
