Peran Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Profesionalisme Guru di SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta

The reason this research is conducted is to describe: 1) principals role to improve the teacher professionalism in sdm surakarta 16. 2) principals method to improve teacher professionalism in sdm surakarta 16. 3) challenge that principal’s faced to improve professionalism. 4) solution that is used by principal for this problem. This research use observation, interview, and documented analysis to collect data including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. For validity this research used triangulation technique and source triangulation. This research conclude that : 1) principal has carried out their role as a manager, entrepreneur improvement, and supervision. 2) principals method to increase teacher professionalism is by giving them chance to continue their study, join teacher forum and academic study, conducting academic research and releasing paper, and giving appreciation for teacher performance. 3) challenge that principal faced including age factor, and teacher discipline. 4) the solution for their challenge is by implementing development for teacher to grow, and follow up for their supervision
