A New Formulation Based on Scalar Magnetic Potential and Surface Magnetic Charge Distribution

Abstract This paper making use of the classical theory of magnetic charges proposes a new formulation of FEM based on the reduced scalar magnetic potential method for magnetostatic field numerical analysis. Two case studies of 2-D translational parallel and axisymmetrical fields are given. It is shown that this method has much to be prefered in magnetostatic field problem analysis.
