The object of the present invention is a procedure for obtaining azaerythromycin of formula I, from 6,9-imino ether of erythromycin A, which is reduced catalytically at low pressure (less than 5 bars), adjusted pH with and using appropriate solvents alcohols 1-3 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof with water acid. Under appropriate conditions one azaerythromycin high purity is obtained in good yield.
