A trifluorophosphine complex compound of uranium

1981
A compound of uranium with phosphorus trifluoride was synthesized. A method of low-temperature synthesis under matrix conditions was developed. This method included the production of a flux of uranium atoms by cathodic atomization in a discharge with a hollow cathode, followed by alternate condensation of layers of the ligand (PF/sub 3/) and uranium atoms on a reactor surface cooled to 77/sup 0/K, for the synthesis of uranium fluorophosphine. The U:PF/sub 3/ ratio was 1:(50-100).
