Germplasm improvement and variety innovation of waxy corn in Jiangsu province

The production of waxy corn and the development of waxy corn breeding in Jiangsu province was briefly described in this paper.The achievements of waxy corn germplasm improvement,inbred lines and hybrids breeding were reviewed.It was pointed out that the further development of waxy corn should be focused on germplasm enhancement,developing new breeding technology,and the industrialization of waxy corn production.
