IDENTIFYING THE DIMENSIONS AND COMPONENTS COMPETENCY OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLPRINCIPALS: (A QUALITATIVE STUDY) -

The purpose of this research was identifying the dimensions and components competency of elementary school principals with qualitative approach by
content analysis. The society under study contains: deputies, elementary education experts in department of education and top principals of elementary
schools in golestan province. By using purposeful sampling method, 18 people (up to data saturation stage) choose as contributors in this project. Data
were collected gathered by interview method with general guidance and semi-structured. In analyzing the findings, the researcher first delved in to
reviewing and revising the text and content of interviews to extract meaningful expressions and concepts. Then the main categories were extracted from
the analysis and coding of these concepts and expressions. Data validation and validity obtained by reviewing the participants and review the nonattending
experts in this research. Finding revealed that competency model for elementary school administrators is informed by four main components
which included: personal competencies, career, communication and knowledge, eight subcomponent which are: personal, ethical, training, managerial,
behavioral, social, general knowledge and professional knowledge and seventy seven indicator: intelligence, order, honesty, good mood, educational
background, successful teacher experience, risk taking, use collaborative principals, flexibility, positive thinking, paying attention to individual
differences, sense of co-operation ,introduction to information and communication technology, familiarity with the organization of human resources
