Interaction of heart rhythm and repolarization of the ventricles in the long QT syndrome

Using information theoretic measures, interaction between heart rhythm, time series of diastolic intervals and repolarization in the ventricles is analyzed. Transfer entropy and joint transfer entropy are calculated. Results for a group of healthy individuals and LQTS1 patients are compared. An asymmetry in the direction of information flow between the variables analyzed is found. Information flows for the LQTS1 patients are smaller than for the healthy.
