System and method for controlling the moment of inertia reaction

A system and method for controlling of inertia reactions on a stationary motor / drive train assembly rotate at least one selected engine component and at least one selected drive train component in opposite directions, so that the rotational inertia of the selected drive train component in a direction opposite to the rotational inertia of the selected engine component acts, to reduce the moment of inertia reactions on a stationary motor / drive train or eliminate caused by rotational acceleration and deceleration of engine / drive train components, and improves the performance with respect to noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).
