Swab Packing for Liver Injury, report of 2 cases with severe laceration and intractable hemorrhage.
2012
Life saving swab packing for two cases of severe laceration of the liver after failure of all the attempts at hemostasis has been reported. The packed swabs were removed by re-Iaparotomy, a few days after the first operation. The complication of subphrenic abscess was encountered only in one case. Both the patients survive the steps of treatment satisfactorily. We agree to reserve the procedure for only the severe and desperate cases.
