Ferramentas de controle social a partir da execução de recursos públicos no Brasil.

This research evaluated tools that use open data, and how they can enable Social Control. The impor‐ tance of this study is the fact that there are many initiatives for transparency and publication of data, but few people are able to use these publications to enable Social Control. The published data may not be accessible to citizens, because of the format they are presented, the need for prior knowledge to interpret them or even the amount of data available. In this context, an exploratory study was made of initiatives listed on the portal data.gov.br, which deal with this issue. We checked the initia‐ tives that deal with the execution of public resources, 22.22% of the total initiatives available on this portal. The results indicate that initiatives to develop tools of social control that can be used by any citizen are still incipient, although there are already interesting projects.
