MICRONUTRIENTS AVAILABILITY IN SOILS AMENDED WITH SEWAGE BIOSOLID COMPOSTS

2007
A laboratory study conducted with four levels of compost addition and three sources of sewage biosolid composts viz., S1 - Raw sewage biosolid, S2 - Sewage biosolid + Coirpith (SB + CP), S3 - Sewage biosolid + Green leaf manure (SB + GLM) in two different texturally varied Alfisol (S1) and Vertisol (S2) indicated that, application of increasing levels of sewage biosolid compost addition significantly increased the availability of all the micronutrients irrespective of the soils type. Among the sewage biosolid compost addition of Sewage biosolid + Greenleaf manure showed higher extractability than the other sources. The micronutrient status significantly increased with incubation period.
