The invention discloses a remote automatic leakage detection method for an underground water supply pipeline. A flow meter is disposed between two adjacent water supply pipelines. The flow meter is provided with a mechanical metering dial plate, and the mechanical metering dial plate is connected with a rotating shaft. An outer side of the flow meter is provided with a controller, and the rotating shaft is connected with a coder. The coder is connected to the controller, and a contact surface of the rotating shaft with the flow meter is provided with a sealing body. The outer side of the coder is provided with a waterproof housing, and the waterproof housing is provided with a lead seal. The lower side of the mechanical metering dial plate is provided with a backlight layer, and the controller is also connected with a transmitter. The backlight layer and the transmitter are connected to a time delay switch. The interior of the transmitter is provided with a lithium battery and a radio frequency antenna. The transmitter is connected with a mobile terminal through wireless connection. A water supply pipeline at a water outflowing end is provided with a water leakage detector. The method achieves the remote detection of leakage of the water supply pipeline, can achieve the positioning of a leakage point, alleviates the workload of a worker, can close a water inlet of a water leakage segment in the first time, and saves the water resources.
