Meta analysis on relationship between IL-6 gene 572 C / G polymorphism and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease susceptibility

2017
Objective To analyze the relation between IL-6 gene 572 C / G polymorphism and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) risk. Methods The data base including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, China Academic Journals Full-text database (1979-2016.10), VIP Database (1989-2016.10)were searched, Wanfang database(2000-2016.10) were searched, the study on IL-6 gene 572 C/G and COPD susceptibility were collected. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria to select articles and evaluate the quality, and then extract the valid data to Meta analysis. Results Five case were eventually included. Meta-analysis showed that the IL-6 gene 572 C / G polymorphism was associated with COPD susceptibility[C vs. G; GC vs GG](P<0.05). By Bgger test to determine publication bias, the results showed that there was no publication bias in all test. Conclusions IL-6 gene 572 C/G polymorphism is significantly associated with the susceptibility of COPD, but still need to be further verified. Key words: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Interleukin-6; Polymorphism; Meta-analysis
