An Ultra Low Power CMOS Temperature Sensor Integrated in Passive UHF RFID Tag

2013
This paper presents an ultra-low power CMOS temperature sensor architecture integrated in passive UHF RFID tag.For deployment in applications of passive UHF RFID tag, power consumption is of utmost importance. In order to reduce the power consumption,a method of reusing current generated by the internal circuit of the tag is adopted and the clock signal is produced by the internal oscillator. It is implemented in SMIC 0.18 μm 2P4M CMOS process, the simulation results shows that increased temperature sensor module power consumption is only 100 nW at room temperature under supply voltage 1.5 V.The temperature sensor resolution is 0.4 ℃/LSB in the range from-20 ℃ to 80 ℃.
