A lot of efforts have been directed to the synthesis ofnonlinear optical (NLO) materials over the past decadebecause of their potential applications in the field of electro-optic device applications. The organic materials seem to besuperior because of their higher nonlinear optical activityand faster response time than the inorganic ones. Among theorganic materials the NLO polymers are receiving greatattention, mainly because they offer many advantages suchas mechanical endurance, light weight, chemical resistance,and good processability to form optical devices.
