pi g9/2

1995
The level scheme of [sup 82]Y is investigated via the [sup 58]Ni([sup 27]Al,2[ital pn]) reaction at a beam energy from 75 to 105 MeV. Excitation functions and neutron-[gamma] coincidences were performed in order to obtain the isotopic identification of the measured [gamma] rays. From the angular distribution, [gamma]-[gamma], and delayed coincidence data a decay scheme was constructed. It exhibits a sequence of levels with probable spin values ranging up to [ital I][sup [pi]]=(17[sup +]), two of them being isomeric states. In particular, the nuclear structure below the [ital I][sup [pi]]=(9[sup +]) is analyzed. The interpretation of these states in terms of the [pi][ital g][sub 9/2][direct product][nu][ital g][sub 9/2] multiplet is discussed.
