Synthesis and catalytic properties of mixed acetylacetonate complex compounds of nickel

1986
The authors investigated the reaction of Ni(acac)/sub 2/(H/sub 2/O)/sub 2/ with various tertiary phosphines and showed that with some phosphines at a ratio of 2 moles per mole of the nickel complex in alcohols bluish-green crystals of compounds of general formula Ni(acac)/sub 2/L/sub 2/ are isolated in yields of 70-85%. They tested the complexes in the catalysis of the addition of dichloromethylsilane to 1-alkenes and showed that they have fairly high activity, which rises with rise in the electron-donor power of the phosphine ligand. The results indicate the predominanting influence of the nature of the phosphine ligand in the nickel(II) complexes on catalytic activity in the hydrosilylation of 1-alkenes.
