Mounting for an electrical contact

2001
The invention relates to a weldable fixing for an electrical contact, comprising a weld nut (1) that is provided on its top with an electrical contact area (9) and on its bottom with an annular axial projection (6) that surrounds a cavity (4) having a predetermined depth (T), and a screw (3) screwed into the weld nut (1), said screw also having an electrical contact area (9). Between the contact areas (9) a spacer ring (2) is clamped. Said spacer ring (2) preferably has a thickness (D) that approximately equals the depth (T) of the cavity (4). When the spacer ring (2) is clamped, the screw (3) is approximately flush with the end of the inner thread (12) of the weld nut (1). The inventive combination is characterized in that that it has reduced overall height, no metal splatter is disposed on the thread (12) during welding, the contact areas (9) are protected during assembly, and the welded connection can receive high torques even when welded onto thin work pieces (7).
