The state of the cells and their membranes is one of the most studied characteristics of human pathology including cardiovascular diseases and in the first place, essential hypertension. Intensity of cell state characteristics and their correlation are different in premorbid state and in case of disease. As constituent parts of the most discussed membrane theory of essential hypertension are energy deficiency and transmembrane potential decrease, determining of these characteristics by new methods based on electrochemical biosensors might help both early diagnosing of these states and defining therapy features depending on cell membrane changes intensity determined by zeta-potential. This study is first in Russia so acquired experience is important for population-based and clinical studies.
