The synthesis and characterisation of chemically bonded stationary phases for complexation gas chromatography. Properties of silica modified with Cu(II) and Cr(III) complexes

The preparation, characterisation and applications of ketoimino stationary phases for complexation gas chromatography are presented. Ketoimino groups enable copper and chromium chlorides to bind to the surface. Ketoimino stationary phases allow one to study the electron donor-electron acceptor interactions between stationary phase and the adsorbate molecules. The column packing without bonded metal was also investigated and served as a reference.
