Implementation of Clinical Pathway Management for Constructing Harmonious Doctor-Patient Relationship

The harmony of doctor-patient relationship is the common demand of both doctors and patients.We may evaluate patient satisfaction through the implementation effect of clinical pathway(CP) and cost control(CC) of 10 single-disease entity.After consulting the information of the hospitalized patients after the surgical therapies from October 2005 to March 2007,we analyzed the effect of CP and CC using the average length of stay and the hospital charges for the patients as the evaluating indexes.There was significant difference in CQI,the average length of stay,the hospital charges for the patients,and patient satisfaction between the CP-CC groups and the traditional groups.The method of clinical pathway and cost control can markedly improve medical quality and patient satisfaction,decrease the average length of stay and the hospital charges,and fundamentally improve the doctor-patient relationship.
