Design of Heavy Caliber Ball Valves and Their 3-D Numerical Simulation

A comparison design was conducted of the heavy caliber ball valves using six methods,and the optimum wall thickness of the valves was derived,a 3-D numerical simulation of the valve body was made using ANSYS software and considering the influences of loads.The result shows that both the strength and rigidity of the valve body were suitable for design requirements.
