Method and realization for fault section estimation using information from circuit breakers and protective relays

In this paper,after deeply analysing the information from circuit breakers and protective relays using arithmetic model when a fault occurred in power system,it proposed a new associated-matrix algorithm for quick and accurate diagnosis.The well-developed parsimonious set covering theory was applied to the fault-section estimation problem,and a 0~ 1 integer programming model was obtained.The proposed method is versatile and can deal with uncertainties in fault-section estimation,such as protective relay failures and/or malfunction and circuit breaker failures and/or malfunction.The method proposed have advantages on processing speed and saving computer space.The results of simulation calculation examples show that the presented mathematical algorithm is feasible and efficient.
