Research of BuShen Chinese medicine on expression of VDR in old osteoblast

Objective:To observe the expression of vitamin D receptor (VDR) in old osteoblast, investigate the effects of BuShen Chinese medicine on expression of VDR, and try to provide new mechanisms of Chinese medicine on bone formation. Methods:Osteoblast was isolated and cultured by the tissue-fragment-migrating-growth method. Biological characteristic was observed by phase-contrast microscope, mineralizing nodule staining and electromicroscope. The expression of VDR gene was tested by RT-PCR. VDR protein staining was performed with immunohistolochemistry, and the expression of VDR protein was examined through western blot. Results:RT-PCR, immunohistolochemistry and western blot showed that Bushenyijing decoction, Gubenzhuanggu capsule, Jinkuishenqi pill upregulated the expression of VDR among BuShen Chinese medicine in old osteoblast, but the expression was different in Zhibaidihuang pill. Conclusion:The expression of VDR was upregulated by Bushenyijing decoction, Gubenzhuanggu capsule, Jinkuishenqi pill in old osteoblast, which leads to bone formation.
