Estado de salud periodontal y necesidades de tratamiento de estudiantes universitarios

The purpose of this work was to determine, by the Communitary Index of Periodontal Treatment Need, the state of periodontal health and required periodontal treatment for university students. In accordance with indicators and sextants, it was concluded that the highest percentages corresponded to the health factor of the and gender groups, without finding deep pockets. Considering treatment needs in the three age groups, the highest percentages corresponded to oral hygiene and preventative care, without need for complex treatment. The statistical test, Analysis of Variance, indicated an extreme significant difference (p< 0,0001) between the variables. The Barttlet Test for equal variances did not show significant difference (p< 0,05 = ns) between variables and finally, the Nwwman-Keuls Multiple Comparison Test indicated a very significant difference (p< 0,001) between the indicators, sextants and treatment requirements by age and sex.
