SUSCEPTIBILITY OF PROCTOR-COMPACTION IN IRRIGATED AND NON-IRRIGATED CLAYEY SOILS FROM EASTERN MOROCCO

1983
A comparison is made between the laboratory results obtained from irrigated and non-irrigated compacted clayey materials, submitted to the proctor-test. In the non-irrigated material the compaction affects the internal aggregate structure at a well defined moisture level. In the irrigated material it is shown that the successive irrigations and dessications have completely modified the structure of the elementary aggregates by compacting them up to an almost complete saturation from approximately 20 rate per cent moisture contents.
