A method for hydraulic fracturing a subterranean formation

2006
A method for hydraulic fracturing a subterranean formation comprising: a first stage, which involves injecting a fracturing fluid containing thickeners in a borehole to generate a fracture in the formation, and a second stage that involves periodic introduction of proppant into the fracturing fluid, the proppant produced in the to bring fracture, whereby the proppant clusters formed in the fracture to prevent closure of the fracture and provide channels for the flow of formation fluids between the clusters, wherein the second stage or its sub-stages, the additional introduction of either a reinforcing or consolidation material, or includes both materials, thereby increasing the strength of the proppant clusters is increased, which are formed in the fracture fluid.
