Pulsiones barrocas : ethos y falso documental, los antojos de mejor vista y agarrando pueblo

2019
My research has a relationship between the baroque and the cinematographic subgenre of the false documentary. The Colombian film Agarrando Pueblo (1978) by Luis Ospina and Carlos Mayolo is read through the question about the degree of truth offered by the cinematographic image and the need to design the image of these representations. This concern for the truth that builds the look and the image of the world is also read in some texts that belong to the phenomenon of the historical baroque, such as the satirical novel Los antojos de mejor vista (1620-25) by Fernando Rodriguez de Rivera. In this way, I propose the return of a baroque ethos through the false documentary where said ethos disputes the order and power of the image, offering a visuality that disputes the logic and processes of modernity
