Expression and clinical significance of human DOC2/DAB2 interaction protein in gastric cancer

2017
Objective To study the expression and clinical significance of human DOC2/DAB2 interaction protein (DAB2IP) in gastric cancer. Methods The immunohistochemical method (IHC) was used to detect DAB2IP protein expression level in 122 cases of gastric cancer tissues, normal mucosae and lymph nodes. Results The expression of DAB2IP in normal mucosae (95 cases) was obviously higher than that in gastric cancer tissues (33 cases, P=0.000) and metastasis lymph nodes (20 cases, P=0.000), and the down-regulated DAB2IP was related to tumor size (66/23 cases, P=0.017), lymph node metastasis (57/32 cases, P=0.006), tumor location (59/30 cases, P=0.034), remote metastasis (63/26 cases, P=0.022), clinical stage (9/80 cases, P=0.018) and survival time (59.6/47.8 months, P=0.001). Furthermore, DAB2IP was an important independent prognosis factor. Conclusion Down-regulated DAB2IP might paly an important role in occurrence, progression, metastasis and prognosis of gastric cancer.
