Provided is a lightning damage warning method based on a WRF pattern and similar day severe convection index identification. According to the invention, severe convection indexes related to grid lightning failure are generated by using a meso-scale WRF pattern, the severe convection indexes significantly and strongly correlated with grid lightning failure and the corresponding quantized thresholds under the concept of similar day are screened by diagnosing the correlation between grid lightning failure in the same period in history and the severe convection indexes, and thus, a severe convection lightning damage warning parameterized model is obtained and calibrated. According to the invention, through the meteorological numerical pattern, the weather process before and after lightning damage can be simulated and forecasted, all kinds of meteorological environmental parameters can be generated, and warning can be carried out for lightning activities and transmission line areas which may suffer from lightning stroke. The method plays an important role for the safe and stable operation of the grid, and has significant application value in improving the grid lightning failure warning capability.
