IMPACT TESTS ON THE STANDARD SAFETY BARRIER OF THE FINNISH NATIONAL ROAD ADMINISTRATION DURING 1993-1999

The Helsinki University of Technology made 18 full scale vehicle impact test for the Finnish National Road Administration and Rautaruukki Oy during years 1993-1999. Tests were done according to standards prEN 1317-2:1993 and 1317-2 in Rajamaki and test 18 in Pori. The standard specification Ty3/51...52 safety barrier from the year 1988 was tested at first. Improved versions, which were published 1993, 1994 and 1999, were tested later. Also the sloped down end treatment was tested.
