Oral yeast carriage in hospitalized patients under-going anti-cancer therapy

2004
Oral candidiasis during cancer therapy are a common source of discomfort and a potential source of systemic infection. The results of this study showed relatively low frequency of oral candidiasis in a group of patients with malignancy, hospitalized in Clinical Hospital Rijeka for chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Candida albicans is the main Candida species responsible for the majority of such infections while non-C. albicans species are rarely implicated.
