Thermal properties of the ferrite system Co0.6Zn0.4CuxFe2-xO4

1994
The ferrite system Co 0.6 Zn 0.4 Cu x Fe 2-x O 4 was prepared by the usual ceramic technique in which the samples were sintered at 1200 o c for 6 hours in air atmosphere (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1). The x-ray pattern confirmed the spinel cubic structure of the samples. The measurements of T.EMF for the ferrite Co 0.6 Zn 0.4 Fe 2 O 4 and that doped with Cu 2+ , showed that the conduction is n-type (hopping electrons) before doping and p-type (hopping holes) after doped. The substitution of Cu at octahedral site decreases the number of Fe 3+ ions and increases the probability of hopping holes between Co 2+ ∼Co 3+
