Design and Implementation of a SAN-Data Backup System

It is crucial to reduce the time cost for the mass data backup in SAN environment.In this paper,a dynamic queue structure is designed for the sharing of tape device.It can utilize the tape resource effectively.Based on it,a scheduling method for concurrent jobs from SAN-hosts is introduced.This paper also proposed an assigning policy for the shared network disks,and the realization of incremental backup in the network environment.Those techniques were used to implement a LAN-Free backup system,which can greatly improve the backup efficiency in the SAN environment.
