Recording of holograms with a liquid-crystal-controlled transparency of 128?128 element capacity

1978
An investigation was made of the characteristics of a matrix-addressable transparency with a 128×128 element capacity, utilizing the effect of electrically controlled scattering as a result of transition of a cholesteric liquid crystal to a nematic phase. The experiments carried out made it possible to optimize the operation of the transparency in the recording of holograms in optical memories.
