Neutron radiation testing of JET in-vessel inspection system components

The JET in-vessel inspection system (MS) allows the monitoring of the plasma vacuum chamber to ascertain damages suffered by first wall materials/components. Radiation resistance of MS components has been tested by a dedicated irradiation campaign where cameras, MS glasses, lamps, motors, cables have been subjected to loads comparable to JET loads. Indications on performance and recommendations about useful operating ranges of the materials are presented.
