The invention provides an aluminum ore and gangue mixed transportation material separating method for a belt conveyor. The system adopted by the implementation of the method comprises the belt conveyor, a plow discharger, an aluminum ore bin, a gangue bin, material flow sensors, a signal transmitter and a control host computer; the belt conveyor comprises N sections of material conveying belts; the number of the material flow sensors is the same as the number of the sections of the material conveying belts; the control host computer is electrically connected with signals of the signal transmitter and the material flow sensors; the control host computer is electrically connected with the plow discharger in a controlling mode. The method mainly comprises the steps that 1, feeding is conducted on an aluminum ore digging working face; 2, a signal identifying the current time of feeding is aluminum ore or gangue is sent; 3, the position of the current time of feeding is detected by the material flow sensors; 4, the position of the current time of feeding and the material category are judged by the control host computer; 5, the plow discharger is controlled by the control host computer to separate out the aluminum ore; 6, the plow discharger is controlled by the control host computer to separate out the gangue. By means of the aluminum ore and gangue mixed transportation material separating method for the belt conveyor, the effective material separation of the aluminum ore and the gangue can be achieved from the source, the cost of manpower and material resources of aluminum ore enterprises is effectively reduced, and therefore the economic benefit of the aluminum ore enterprises is improved.
