PENGGUNAAN LIMBAH BETON SEBAGAI AGREGAT KASAR PENGGANTI PADA LAPIS PERKERASANASPHALTIC CONCRETE â WEARING COURSE (AC-WC)

2014
In this modern era, infrastructure developments and constructions are carried everywhere. Waste concrete construction remainder accounted for a sizeable proportion of total construction waste. However, not necessarily concrete waste can be directly utilized. Therefore, the waste concrete is attempted to be a mix of materials in the pavement. This study aimed to determine and compare the quality of the AC (Asphaltic Concrete) pavement using the fresh aggregate and waste concrete aggregate. In addition, to determine the potential quantity of utilization in the field. Spesifikasi Umum Direktorat Jenderal Specimens were made by 66 pieces. Concrete waste being used is those which passed in ¾,detained in ½ diameter sieve and which passed in ½, detained in 3/8 diameter sieve. Specimens were divided into 3 categories of waste concrete contents levels, 0%, 73% and 100%. The study begins with the drafting of a mixture gradation of Marshall testing which is done by comparing its Marshall properties values with values shown in Bina Marga Edisi 2010 (revisi 2) Divisi 6 for AC-WC mixture. Marshall Tests performed on 2 types of conditions to obtain the value of the Marshall properties and resistance to the effects of water by comparing the value of stability in the soaking conditions and the standard 24-hour immersion in the test specimen with Optimum Asphalt Contents condition. Based on the results of the study, the Marshall Quotient values at concrete waste contents of 0%, 73%, and 100% with the standard immersion conditions are respectively 644, 570, and 561 kg/mm, and for 24 hour immersion conditions are respectively 603, 535, and 511 kg/mm. RMS value obtained at concrete waste contents level of 0%, 77%, and 100% are all of the above 90%. The potential use of waste concrete aggregate in AC-WC pavement with width of 1 m with a thickness of 5 cm at the level of variation of concrete waste 73% per tonne-km by 16.1, the variation in the levels of waste concrete contents 100% of 20.1 tons. Waste concrete can be used as a substitute for coarse aggregate gradation passed in ¾,detained in ½ diameter sieve and which passed in ½, detained in 3/8 diameter sieve because the value of volumetric, Marshall properties, and RMS values meet the required specifications in all variations of concrete waste contents level tested.
