Video compression method and device

Disclosed is a video compression method, comprising the following steps: extracting I-frames in a video source file, to acquire I-frame video files; filtering the I-frames video files, to acquire a valid video file satisfying a set condition; and performing multiplexing compression processing on the valid video file, to generate a compressed video file. Also disclosed is a video compression device. By means of the present invention, the time of reading and analysing a video is reduced, and meanwhile, the size of a compressed video file is reduced, and the size of a memory space occupied by the compressed video file is reduced.
