2021
Through the study of 11 specimens, Ctenoplectra cornutaGribodo, 1891 is described from Bhutan for the first time. This is also the first report from the South Asian region. C. cornuta is collected from Thladiantha cordifolia and were seen pollinating from the month of June-November. Some of the specimens were collected from the orchid species, Dendrobium nobile and its role as pollinator in this particular and other orchid species’ needs further investigation. Bhutan needs to accelerate the documentation of the bee fauna while the world is in the record of declining the bee diversity.
