A New trust management scheme with Energy Efficiency in wireless Sensor networks (NEES)

2015
In order to cope with insider attacks and filter out compromised and selfish nodes from sensor networks, some trust-based systems have recently been modeled. However, the trust evaluation of individual nodes adapted in traditional schemes does not ensure the success of interactions and a high packet loss can be observed. Moreover, they consume a lot of energy during recommendations process. In this paper, we propose a New trust management scheme with Energy Efficiency in wireless Sensor networks (NEES). The main idea of our work is to detect and revoke compromising nodes from sensor network. We achieve this using reputation and trust management mechanism. Theoretical as well as simulation results show that NEES detect selfish and defective nodes and prevent us of insider attacks. Moreover, our scheme requires less communication overheads and consumes less energy as compared to the current typical trust systems for WSNs.
