Tight gas exploration in the Pannonian Basin

2010
Abstract The Pannonian Basin is a mature exploration area where most of the obvious structural features have been tested and the largest conventional accumulations probably have been found. The history of hydrocarbon exploration and production in the central Pannonian Basin, Hungary, is more than 90 years old. The evaluation of unconventional hydrocarbon reserves offers an opportunity to rejuvenate exploration in this young and hot basin.
