Notes on farmers’ markets in Lazio (Italy)

Farm producers and especially small and medium sized farms are subjected to an historical, increasing competitive pressure. The paper focuses on the farmers’ markets in the Italian region Lazio as an economic opportunity given by the direct selling of agricultural products. The article, starting from the legal framework both at the national and at the regional level, examines the farmers markets as a competitive strategy to face the new challenges of the global economy.
