Theoretical Study of the Maximum Degree of Supersaturation Ratio of Low Pressure Steam during the Expansion

1988
The condensing flow of low pressure steam in nozzles with different shapes is solved numerically, in which the nucleation theory has been applied to the flow. The results are compared with the existing experimental observations. It is shown that the location of maximum degree of supersaturation ratio and supercooling (Wilson point) are mainly dependent on the time rate of expansion, defined as {formula} of the following steam.
