AN EVALUATION OF VARIOUS AIRGUN SIGNATURE MEASUREMENT METHODS

1987
There is a need to periodically measure the signatures of airgun arrays onboard seismic survey vessels. Presently, there are several methods available. This paper discusses the advantages and limitations of the following measurement techniques: 1) salinity interface line; 2) sonobuoy with suspended hydrophone; 3) stationary deep hydrophone; 4) deep towed hydrophone; 5) instrumented test range; and 6) synthesis from near-field measurements.
